“The Five New Essential Rules to Acquire Start-up Capital in Today's Economy”

The recent economic downturn has had a profound impact on traditional bank, angel and venture capital financing. Funding for start-up and fast-growth companies is approaching near historic lows. Competition for private financing has never been more intense. However as Guy Kawasaki, of Garage Technology Ventures states, "Good business models always get funded regardless of the economy." This installment of the SMBC Business Essentials Series is your chance to find out what banks, angel investors and venture capitalists are looking for in a company to say 'yes' to a funding request today. Learn how to position your business to succeed in securing funding despite the restricted capital environment. Investment capital is the fuel of entrepreneurial ventures and you will leave this event armed with the strategic information necessary to turn your business vision into a reality.

Paul Bozzo has a professional background that combines more than 20 years of experience in entrepreneurial strategy, private equity financing, commercial banking and business planning. Currently Paul serves as a Certified Master Instructor for the NxLeveL Entrepreneur Course sponsored by the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Santa Rosa Junior College. The NxLeveL Entrepreneur Course is the Small Business Administration's (SBA) flagship 12-week training curriculum focused on entrepreneurial strategy and planning. In addition to his role with the SBDC, Paul is the founder of the 10X Consulting Group; a boutique consultancy focused on development of strategic business plans for startup and fast-growth companies seeking venture capital financing. Paul has served as an expert panelist and facilitator for several events dedicated to innovation and private investment capital held in the San Francisco Bay Area.
